AfDA envisions to becoming a leading research institute and knowledge hub, dedicated to addressing the triple challenges of climate change, conflict, and poverty in Africa. We are committed to playing an instrumental role in breaking the cycle of these challenges and actively contributing to peace, development, and sustainability on the continent.

AfDA’s mission is to conduct rigorous research and policy analysis to provide evidence-based and context-specific policy solutions and advice. We employ a multidisciplinary research approach, considering the perspectives of peace and security, socio-economic development, and the sustainable use of the environment and natural resources.
